Georgetown is a vibrant and truly special neighborhood in Seattle. Rich with a hard-working arts community, Georgetown is known for a festive vibe and Georgetown Art Attack. Every second Saturday of the month Georgetown galleries, studios, bars, and restaurants open their doors for a night of art, live music, food and spirits. This past Holiday Art Attack was documented by photographer Niffer Calderwood, in a pictorial that beautifully captures the spirit of this eclectic neighborhood. STACKEDD Magazine – Georgetown: A Pictorial is the first of a collection of articles designed to celebrate the diverse neighborhoods that make Seattle unique. Being Seattle’s oldest neighborhood, Georgetown is the first! If you are considering using The Stables for your special event don’t miss this opportunity to see what Georgetown is all about.
We made the cut!

What’s a fun and different way to bring your guests together and create lasting memories? Lawn games at your reception can make the party! Keep quests engaged and having fun while meeting new family members and friends. The Stables has plenty of outdoor space for all your game desires.
Bringing back the old tradition of lawn games at outdoor parties is becoming popular again at wedding receptions. Set up the twister, bean bag toss, fuse ball, giant Jenga or any other lawn game and watch the fun begin! It can also be a fun and unexpected way to personalize your reception with customized boards that incorporate your colors or theme!
The colder weather has finally rolled in to Seattle. The trees are begining to glow and rains have brought a chill to the air. I have pulled out my favorite cozy sweaters and wool socks to keep me warm. All of these fall signifiers have me day dreaming about warming up next to a fire with good friends and a warm Autumn inspired cocktail.
It seems that I am probably not alone in these ponderings, so here are a few favorite warm cocktail recipes to inspire you…
Apple Brandy Hot Toddies
1 1/2 cups water
3 tablesoons local honey
3/4 cup fresh lemon juice
2 cups apple brandy of your choice
Eight 3-inch cinnamon sticks
2 Fresh apples cut in thin slices
In small saucepan, bring the water to a boil. Remove from the heat and stir in the honey until dissolved. Stir in lemon juice and apple brandy. Set a cinnamon stick in each of 8 mugs or heatproof glasses, pour in the hot liquid. Garnish with apple slices and serve.
I recommend a young Irish whiskey for this recipe as it will stay smooth as it is heated
3/4 cup raw sugar
2 1/2 cup water
2 cups Irish Whiskey
Pinch of Nutmeg
Couple whole cloves and Star Anise for garnish
1-2 Lemons cut into wedges
Bring water to a low boil. Remove from heat. Add raw sugar and stir till sugar has dissolved. Add half of the lemon wedges and muddle. Add whiskey and nutmeg. Stir and serve. Garnish with lemon, cloves and float a star anise for added beauty.
I hope these recipes inspire you to cozy in with friends or with a good book and relax on these chilly fall evenings!
Let me start by saying that this is my first summer as a participating member of the Georgetown Community. That being said I have grown to love this neighborhood and all the wonderfull events we have hosted this year including Carnival and Honk Fest West. But, there is something very special and unique about the buzz that is in the air around the coming Georgetown Garden Walk. The neighborhood is a bustle with people readying thier homes, gardens and storefronts. There is an air of pride and value as we prepare to show off our gardens but also our talents, arts, music and essentially our homes. It’s intimate. It’s not about a rock band in a parking lot (not to say I don’t love a rockband in a parking lot!). This is a glimpse into the lives and people that make Georgetown special. It also seems like it will be an event well attended by the community. When I told a fellow gardener at the Oxbow Pea Patch that I will be working most of Sunday she looked at me with a scorned face and said “K, you do not want to miss the Garden Walk. It is the event of the season”. So I will take her advice, put on my Sunday best and do the Georgtown Garden Walk. Hope to see you there! You can find full details about the event on our Events page. Today we are lucky to host the Honk Fest West greenroom at The Stables and WOW is Georgetown in for a treat! Drums, tambourines, horns, human cheers, horns of all shapes and sizes are melodically jamming in our parking lot and they sound FANTASTIC!! A toast to talent, it feels like summer is finally here!
Tonight The Stables hosted a benefit auction for the Community School of West Seattle. Raising money for scholarships, a new kiln and positive education in the community. This was one amazing event! A country-chic soiree where everyone came wearing their cowboy boots, a live blue grass band played, and cocktails were served in mason jars, these folks know how to have a great time. Thank you Community School of West Seattle, it’s a delight having you!
The Stables, as a relic of days gone by, has a heart and soul all its own. As caretakers for such a beautiful gem it is our honor and duty to work diligently to make her look the best. We aim to please clients, guests and the community with our labors of love as we work to make The Stables shine. Over the last 10 days we as a staff worked to refinish the concrete floors in the main event room. The multi step process was an adventure as none of are professionals floor restorers. We learned a lot about each other, the beauty of a process and how important a good set of knee pads can be! Once all the pieces were back in place the shining new floors add so much heart and soul to The Stables. We hope you enjoy and love the new floors as much as we do.
Consider The Stables for your next business meeting/luncheon/seminar.
The Stables includes a PA with microphone,Wifi,a SMART TV for easy presentations, available seating for 80 in the main room and more. A fun option is always a food truck on the patio.

Up bright and early here at the Stables, for our first apparel event of Spring! But this ain’t your hipster runway show, that’s for sure. Today we welcome Biker’s Choice and Tucker Rocky for their showcase of sweet duds and studs for motorcycle, dirt bike and ATV. They are at this very moment transforming the Stables into a sweet retail pop up. I’m really looking forward to this event, and thanks for the free shirts guys!
Check ’em out here!
